Docerela Creations Blog Hop!!!

Happy Friday and welcome to the Docerela Creations Blog Hop! Can you believe that January is coming to an end so fast?? February is right around the corner! Eeek...so many Valentine projects to complete!
Are you behind on your scrapbook pages? Never scrapped before? Then this challenge is for you!

Today's challenge is a Valentine's Day layout!

For my layout I decided to dig out a high school prom photo of my hubby and I because I have been wanting to create a page inspired by Martina McBride's song "Still the One"! Oh I just love that song! Well, not to get all lovey doevy on you right now, but it just fits so well because my hubby and I have been together since I was a senior in high school. It wasn't until I made this layout that I really thought about it; we've been together 16 YEARS!!! OMG, that's like half my life!

Anyway, the new Docerela "Loveable" stamp set was absolutely perfect for capturing the sentiments and thoughts that I wanted to convey on this layout. When I first received this gorgeous MME glitter paper in a kit I had no idea how I was going to use it, but when we were presented with this awesome Valentine layout challenge I knew that I wanted to use it. Sure, it's not your traditional Valentine colors, but I think the gold tones, wood patterned paper, and dark  accents are symbolic of how long we've been together and the strong bond we have, so I like it! And, I love how beautifully the stamped sentiments blend with the designs on the MME paper.

Supplies: Stamps: Docerela Creations Loveable Stamp Set; Scrapbook Kit: Studio Calico Handmade kit- November 2011; Stickers: October Afternoon; Ink: Ranger Distress, Jenni Bowlin, Studio G; Embossing Powder: American Crafts, Ranger Tim Holtz; Punch: Fiskars Jenni Bowlin; Diecut: Slice-Basics I cartridge

We are showcasing  Docerela Creations set "Lovable" so you will have to stop on over to her shop to take a peek at the other two new sets! (They are must haves!)
You can check out her store HERE!

Put Your Brave Girl Boots On...

Howdy! Happy Sunday! Well, as I'm gearing up for a month of positive change of better food choices and incorporating more activity into my daily life and the lives of my family members I found a few sources of inspiration this weekend that helped me put it in writing. Have you ever made a card for yourself? Sounds kinda of weird, right? Well, like I said I found a few challenges this weekend that kind of all flowed together for me which lead me to make a card for myself! However I'm strongly considering turing the card into a mini book kind of like the American Crafts Amy Tangerine day books (love those), but for now it's a card to remind me to be brave, put my boots on, and get on the journey to making my resolutions reality!

Supplies: Cardstock: Recollections; Patterned Paper, Chipboard: Crate Paper; Stamps: Unity; Stickers: Crate Paper, Pink Paislee; Washi Tape: Hambly; Ink Ranger, Tsukineko, Versamark; Embossing Powder: Ranger; Mist: Studio Calico; Die Cut: Slice; Journaling Tag: Elle's Studio
  • The first point of inspiration for this card is the current Unity Challenge, which is to "make a card or other stamped project that says 'new beginnings' to you" I knew immediately that I wanted to make something that would help me remember my 2012 resolutions daily!
  • So, then I hopped on over to the Unity {Ippity} Opportunity challenge blog and found another challenge to help my card come to life! The current challenge there is
Something Old (the brown/creme Elle's Studio tag is about 2 years old)
Something New (Unity Brave Girl Boots Stamp Set- just received it via mail yesterday and LOVEIT!)
Something Borrowed (the blue jean material is from an old pair of jeans that are.... ummm too small!)
Something Blue (Crate Paper blue jean paper and the blue jean scrap)
  • And the last challenge site which really pulled it all together is Card Patterns weekly sketch site! Yep this card is based on this week's sketch #149!

And, so that is how all three of these awesome challenge blogs helped me pull my little cowgirl card together! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by! Have a beautiful day and fantastic week!

A Frosty little birthday card...

As I mentioned earlier, I did A LOT of blog surfing this past weekend and while I was visiting one of my favorite kit club blogs, Apron Strings Designs, I learned about a challenge blog called Birthday Sundaes! And it is the perfect place to gain inspiration to build a stock pile of birthday cards! This week's challenge is to create a birthday card using the following picture as inspiration. The card must have a snowman on it, too.

Supercute inspiration piece, right? Ok, so here's the card that I was inspired to make...
Very quick and easy little card using a little bit of some of my favorite things right now which include kraft card stock, Crate Paper, Mister Huey- Calico White, stamping using embossing powder and twine!!!
Supplies: Cardstock: The Paper Studio; Patterned Paper, Stickers: Crate Paper; Stamps: Docerela Creations Mix & Match III, CraftSmart; Embossing Powder: Ranger; Mist, Twine: Studio Calico; Ribbon: Target; Die Cut: Slice
Ok it it way past my bedtime but I hope to be back tomorrow with a layout based on the last Sketchy Thursdays sketch! Really sad that Sketchy Thursdays is saying goodbye, so I really need to get it in gear and crank out a layout to bid adieu! Ok, goodnight! Thanks so much for stopping by!

A fun new place to play...

While spending hours looking at my favorite blogs, pinterest, and drooling over CHA sneak peeks last weekend I also stumbled upon a great site called Go Fish and they have a fun challenge blog that posts sketch challenges! So in the spirit of scrap, scrap, scrap and playing with my Slice I made a couple of cards for the current sketch challenge on Sunday.  Seems like a pretty fun place, so be sure to check it out....

I followed the sketch verbatim to make this Valentine card for my son and then I got a little bit more adventurous and used it as a guide for the any occasion "hello" card.

Supplies: Cardstock: The Paper Studio, Patterned Paper: Create My Keepsake 2008 kit; Washi Tape: Smash; Ranger Stickles; Studio Calico Mister Huey; Diecut Start: Slice; Stamp: We R Memory Keepers

Supplies: Cardstock: The Paper Studio; Patterned Paper, Chipboard: Crate Paper; Stickers: Crate Paper, October Afternoon; Trim: Studio Calico; Button: October Afternoon; Twine: The Twinery; Mist: Studio Calico Mister Huey; Tag: Avery; DieCut: Slice

Well, thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great week!

What a letter day....SYC, DC, and CPS!!!

There are a few scrappy fun things I want to share with you today...

****Just a reminder to head on over to Scrap Your Crap because the new challenge was posted today! Challenge 61 is Something Old - Something New! And, I don't know about you but one of my 2012 resolutions is to use my stash and not hoard my new goodies either! One of my real problem areas is scrapbook kits! I have subscribed to several scrapbook kit clubs in my time and lets just say I've collected way more than I've used! I had fun with the current SYC challenge (I always do) because I opened up and used a kit that I have never touched from 2008!!! Yes, I admit I have a problem! (insert evil laugh)! And I used a brand new kit that I received from Scrapbook Circle this month. Here is the card that I created for the challenge:

****And wanted to remind you also that Docerela Creations is also having a challenge right now to create a Valentine project using a cut from your Cricut. As I mentioned a couple of days ago, I got an awesome deal on the Slice die cutting machine and in keeping with my "use it" resolution I opened it up today and played. I LOVE it!  I used the newly released Docerela Creations 'Loveable' stamp set for this card. Head over to the shop to get it on sale for $10 and free shipping! The sale ends tonight so hurry...

*This card is based on the current challenge at Card Positioning System sketch #251! Which is a fantastic sketch! I love it and will surely use it again!

Supplies: Cardstock: The Paper Studio; Patterned Paper: Crate Paper; Stamps: Docerela Creations, Jenni Bowlin; Die Cutting: Slice Machine, Cartridges: Basics I, Jungle; Buttons: Studio Calico; Ink: Ranger Distress; Embossing Powder: Recollections

****And, one more thing... I just heard about this gorgeous shop called The Greatest View and they are having a giveaway for a chance to win a gift certificate to her shop! I adore these buttons and dollies! Go to the Greatest View blog  become a follower, post on your blog about the new shop, and go back and leave a comment for a chance to win one of 3 gift certificates to The Greatest View!

Ok, well that was a lot at once! Hope you're having a beautifully creative weekend!

Docerela Creations New Stamp Set Reveal and Blog Hop

Happy Friday!!!! Happy Friday! Today is an exciting day! Docerela Creations is releasing three new stamp sets today! EEEK! They are fabulous!!

Today we are showcasing her set "Lovable"

And Guess what... She is putting them on SPECIAL Sale!!  Whoot Whoot!
TODAY ONLY...THE LOVEABLE SET IS $10.00 AND FREE SHIPPING!!!

****UPDATE**** Catarina has decided to extend the sale!!!!! YAY!!! So now you have the entire weekend until midnight Sunday to take advantage of this generous sale on the Loveable stamp set!!!!

But you will have to stop on over to her shop to take a peek at the other two sets, and they are must haves! You can check out her store HERE
Today's challenge is Valentine's card/layout or 3d that includes a cut using our Cricut machines!
Here's my card and because I only own like 3 Cricut cartridges I didn't have very many Valentiney cuts available, but I did find this little heart from another shape that I had! So as tiny as it is, it's still a cut from my Cricut! Anyway, Of course I used the gorgeous Docerela Stamp set, Loveable and a little felt robot from Hobby Lobby, and the papers are from my January 2012 Scrapbook Circle kit.

I hope you will pop on over and visit the rest of the design team and join in our challenge over at Docerela Creations! And be entered to win a set of her stamps!

A Haul, A Sketch and another little Sneak Peek...

Hi! Just stopping by with a quick post tonight to tell you about an amazing clearance at Michaels (if you haven't already heard through the grapevine)! Michaels has the Slice machines on clearance for 19.99 and the cartridges are 4.99!!!  Do I need another die cutting machine? NO! Can I pass up a mega sale? NO! Did I get just about everything they had? YES!!! LOL, but I must say I'm taking 5 of the carts to work tomorrow to see if my scrappy friend who was on the hunt too once I text messaged her from Michaels all giddy and crazy with excitement because her Micheals had way fewer carts than mine, so technically I really only purchased 4 carts for me....kinda, sorta! Anyway, just thought it was my scrappy duty to pass along the info since it was passed to me and I definitely could not pass up this deal!  Woot Woot!
Oh and a little bit more haul arrived tonight too. My Fiskars Jenni Bowlin punches arrived tonight from Joann.com! Yay!

They are a little big smaller than what I was anticipating, but that's fine...I'm about to crack these bad boys open because I am on a mission to no longer be a scrap hoarder! And, someone please hold me to my word of not buying anything else (scrappy)for at least the next 3 months (unless I find more Slice carts--heehe--that doesn't count because I need them to use the machine...right?)! Yes, I obviously have a problem!

In other scrappy news, Docerela Creations is releasing 3 new stamp sets on Friday and the DT has been giving sneak peeks all week! So I thought I'd sneak in at least one more little peek before Friday! I used the current Sketchy Thursdays sketch and an added challenge to use blue and silver via this week's partnership with Scrappy Chics. Because I have homework to do and I need to do a couple of loads of laundry before bed I decided to make a card instead of a layout for the challenge. I used the NEW Docerela Creations Loveable stamp set (which will be released Friday)and the January Scrapbook Circle kit, You + Me, oh and a Maya Road cabochon from my stash and a shipping tag. I used Ranger Jenni Bowlin ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Please be sure to visit Carrie and Docerela Creations for more sneak peeks! Be sure to come back for the blog hop Friday because I'm pretty sure you will want to see the entire release (just sayin'...the new stamps are pretty darn cute) and also find out how you can win your very own Docerela Creations stamp set!

A sketch and a sneak...

Friday Docerela Creations is releasing three, yep THREE, new super cute stamp sets in the new shop! So of course I just had to give you a little sneak peek of the cuteness that is right around the corner ....

I made this card using a sketch from Challenge #23 on Scrapbook Circle's blog. I used January's You + Me kit,  a few items from my stash, and the brand spankin' new -soon to be released- Docerela Creations Baked with Love stamp set to make this card for my mom who makes dinner for us several times per week! I'm so grateful for my mom and her awesome cooking and baking skills, because without her yummy home cooked meals we would be total junk food junkies or simply hungry! LOL!

Supplies: Sketch and kit: Scrapbook Circle; Stamps: Docerela Creations- Baked with Love; Cricut Cartridge (apron cut): From My Kitchen; Jenni Bowlin: ink, receipt paper, sticker; Ranger Inc: Tim Holtz embossing powder; Twine: Pick Your Plum

Anyway....I love this little card primarily because I actually used a current kit instead of hoarding it like always and because the new Docerela Creations stamps are just the bee's knees and I can't wait for the reveal!  There are more peeks of the new stamps sets available, too!
Go check out Carri's blog and the Docerela Creations blog for sneaks of the new stamp sets. Oh, yeah, and please be sure to stop back on Friday as we reveal the new stamps and showcase the Loveable stamp set! There is also going to be a challenge too...and you know what that means....a chance to win an awesome stamp set of your own!!!! Ok, hopefully if the stars align and we don't have too many school functions and home work going on I will be able to share another peek or two of the new sets before Friday!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! I am so excited and pumped about 2012! I truly believe that it is going to be an amazing year of change and growth! I usually don't read horoscopes, but I just happened to be on the yahoo homepage and decided to see what my horoscope says for 2012....(copy and pasted directly from yahoo)....Pretty excited, especially about the last couple of sentences!...go check out yours and see what may be on the horizon, just for fun!

Aquarius Outlook for 2012

    Aquarius
    1/20 – 2/18

    Year 2012 Overview

This is the year to come out of recent hiding, Aquarius. Saturn, your traditional ruler, will be making its way to your sector of fame and recognition this year, so get ready! Your standing in the world takes on great importance, especially during the latter half of the year. The total solar eclipse in November in your career sector is another huge catalyst to boost your professional status. Being born under the sign of fame, this spotlight is in keeping with your destiny, darling. It's time to come out of humble reclusion, and let yourself shine!
Jupiter spends the first half of the year in your home and family sector, placing the focus squarely on family dynamics and other long-buried issues. You'll gain many philosophical insights during this period about not only your roots, but your role in your family. This is a chance to expand your viewpoint on past events that have shaped who you are today. You may also find yourself in a more introverted and introspective space during the first half of the year until Jupiter enters your romance and pleasure sector in June.
Perhaps the best news is that foggy Neptune is finally leaving your chart in February, allowing you to see clearly - especially in your relationship to yourself. After perhaps suffering some serious disappointments and disillusionments over the past few years, you have started to doubt your ability to read people accurately. However, you'll no longer be under the influence of Neptune's illusory powers, so you'll be able to get back on track. But beware: Neptune will move into your money sector, potentially obscuring your ability to be spend within the bounds of your financial reality. The upside is that Neptune in your financial house could bring an inspiring and soulful means for you to earn money. The arts - film, dance, photography or painting, in particular - could play a bigger role in your income than in years past
