12 Tags of 2012 and Spark!!!

Hola! Happy last day of April! Eeek, can't believe I'm sliding in under the line with my April tag for Tim Holtz's 12 tags of 2012! I've been planning my tag out in my mind since Tim posted it, but have never gotten around to until...yep tonight!!! Here's my tag inspired by Tim's April tag....I'm kinda in a hurry so if you have any questions about the supplies I used just leave me a comment and I'l edit this post with my supply list. Also entering my tag into Simon Says Stamp and Show-- Kaleidscope of color challenge

Updated tag: So I was feeling I wanted a little more to my tag, so in the wee hours of the night I added some splatters of mist and this little bird...(oh and natural light is much nicer)

And I also spent time last night making a card for a friend using the current Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge. And also entering into Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog- Anyting Goes!

Here is the inspiration photo....

And here is my card....

I was inspired to use the Studio Calico chevron background stamp because it reminded me of the waffle cone. And my patterned paper choices were based on the colors in the inspiration piece- blue, red, orange, and green. I don't know if you can see it, but the pink banner has little cherries on it...so cute- love that paper (Crate Paper)! I just adore the little gnome and mushrooms from the Paper Smooches Forest Whimsey set! The sentiment 'Whimsical Wishes' is also from the set. And the 'Get Well Soon' sentiment is from Docerela Creations.

Ok, thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great week!

Docerela Creations Blog Hop!

Happy Friday, Friends! I hope everyone is experiencing nice, spring weather! Well, wedding season is here and we are celebrating at Docerela Creations with our current challenge, which is to create a bridal shower project (card, ATC, layout, mixed media- whatever you want)! And guess, what? The awesome owner of Docerela Creations, Catarina, is getting married and we are having a virtual bridal shower by making cards for her!!!! WOOT! She is having an IRL bridal shower this week, and we did not want to miss out on the fun! So, please leave a comment and congratulate Catarina on her upcoming wedding! I am so excited for her and decided to make her a girly, girl card because she is such a sweetheart! Here's my card:

Supplies: Stamps: Docerela Creations- Favorite Quotes; Patterned Paper: Crate Paper, Heidi Swapp; Stickers: American Crafts, Crate Paper;  Cabachon and Heart Pin: Card of My Eye; Ink: Versafine Onyx Black

I used one of the newly released stamp sets "Favorite Quotes"! I love this stamp set! The sentiment "Blessings" is perfect for the Bride-to-be because I wish her a lifetime of blessings with her hubby!  You can barely see it, but I also used the "XOXO" stamp- it's peeking from under the lace trim on the left side. If you have not already, you need to stop by the Docerela Creations shop and pick this up! I'm telling you it has a ton of sayings that are perfect for all types of cards and occasions!

Now, hop on over to visit Ana so you can see what she has for you! And, remember to hop back around to Docerela Creations and participate in the Bridal Shower project challenge! Can't wait to see what you create!

Today all the Design Team members and our Guest Designer will be using the color theme Pink and brown.

Here is my project:

I used the newly released Favorite Quotes stamp set

and also the Loveable set.
These stamps are so versatile and I just love them! I was inspired to make this mini cover page because the "Me & You, True Love!" sentiments reminded me of what two lovebirds might carve into a tree so I used this cute Crate Paper woodgrain paper and cut a heart in "the tree" with my Slice machine! I used another sheet of Crate Paper to back the cutout heart and hand cut some banners from scraps! I love that Docerela Stamps inspire me to create layouts, cards, and projects! There have been so many times that my project ideas come from looking at the stamp sets!

Before you go I have some blog Candy to share:

Docerela Creations Reveal and Challenge...

Hi! Happy Friday!!! I am thrilled that it's finally Friday because it's the end of the work week and because we are revealing the new Docerela Creations stamps! There are FOUR new stamp sets being released today, and trust me....you will want to grab them! The design team has been hard at work with these lovlies and two of the ladies will be showcaseing the Portuguese Set III and three of us will be showcaseing the ever-so-cute, Hello Baby set!

Our challenge is to create a baby project using pink or blue! I decided that I would go down memory lane and actually scrapbook a baby picture of one of my boys.  As soon as I found this picture of my (now 14) baby boy, Nic I knew the sentiments on the Hello Baby stamp set would be perfect to capture my feelings! He was just so sweet, cute and chunky! And, well now he's a teen! LOL! But anyway, I was really inspired by the stamp set and used 4 of the phrases to create this layout.

A little spring card just because...

I'm in the process of destashing/decluttering and getting ready to particpate in my LSS's scrapbook yard sale this Saturday, and to my suprise when I arrived home last night I received some new goodies that I had pre-ordered from Stop and Scrap a few months ago! I'm tellin' ya' I get rid of 1 thing and 5 more things spring up! {Literally} Yikes!  Oh, and if you live anywhere near the DFW area come out to the Little Blue House in Keller on Saturday for the yard sale because I have a feeling it's going to be AWESOME! "OhhhhOhhh sometimes I get a good feelin'....." LOL- Love that song; makes me smile!
Anyway, in an effort to be more proactive about using my supplies and not hoarding them....I interupted my regularly scheduled evening destashing to play with these lovely Crate Paper and Studio Calico goodies! And I used some flowers that I contemplated throwing into my sale pile, but quickly pulled them out well...because they're cute!

I made this little spring card based on this week's CPS sketch! I really like how this week's sketch has a little pocket. And also for this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge which is to use your favorite tool! I love punches and my Tim Holtz scissors and used both on this project! And Celebrate The Occasion's challenge "just because" and use pink!

Supplies: Patterned Paper and Stickers: Crate Paper; Printable Banner: Teresa Collins; Stamp: Studio Calico; Flowers: Prima; Washi Tape: Target; Punches: Jenni Bowlin, Fiskars

Please come back on Friday because the new releases from Docerela Creations will be revealed AND all of the new stamps will be on specially priced AKA "SALE" on release day!!!
Friday+New Docerela Creations Stamps+ Sale= HAPPINESS in my book!
WOOHOO!!! You will love these, I'm tellin' ya...they are fab!!!
Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a fab day!

I'm in the mood for cards....

Happy Sunday, Peeps! Stopping by this morning with a quick card and envelope that I made! I made this card for my hubby and used the following challenges as a guide (well actually the challenges inspired the card...heheee):

Unity Stamp Company Challenge: Doors and Windows- I created a door to open up!
Unity Opportunity Challenge- use flowers (Ippity Stamp - Simple Peace, Love, Happy- I used the bicycle wheels to stamp the flowers on the inside door cover, Ippity Stamp- Sweet Paper Pals- the girl is a flower pattern)
The Paper Variety- Create a matching envelope that uses 2 elements from your card- I stamped the Paper Pals and used Washi Tape on both.

Loved all of these challenges because I usually never make my cards interactive even though I love it when other people make fun, interactive cards! Also because it got me to use 4 out of several of the gorgeous Unity stamps that I received via mail last week right away and to dig into my SC kit stash for embellies!!! And, duh I should be stamping on all my envelopes to coordinate with my cards all of the time because it's so quick, easy, and adds such a personal touch! What have you learned recently from participating in challenges? I'd love to know....

Oh, and Linking up with the current NEON challenge at Do More With Less

Oh, just in case you love these stamps as much as I do...these are the four that I used:
Ippity: Life Bingo
Ippity: Sweet Paper Pals
Ippity: Simple Peace, Love, Happy
Unity and Simple Stories: {...specialize in memories}

Well, I hope everyone has a beautiful week! Thanks so much for stopping by!
