Scrappin' my Scraps

Amy Heller is hosting a fantastic challenge to scrap your scraps! Just what I need! Because my name is Nitasha and I'm a scrap hoarder!!! LOL! Just ask my kiddos- they've threatened to turn me in and ask Hoarders to do a special episode of Scrapbook Hoarders! LOL! OK- if you watch the show- don't be grossed out, I'm really not like that, but my kids tease that I have too much stuff (even though they quite often are in my supplies-ummmhmmm)! So, this is probably only 1/4 of my scraps, but I have to work with small portions or I'll be overwhelmed and end up just running my fingers through it all and not actually scrappin'!
Earlier this year I took Christy Tomlinson's SheArt class and loved it but did not actually create very many girls. But, I've been feeling artsy fartsy lately and knew that I wanted to use my scraps to create a small SheArt girl on a mini book cover. I'm a random type of girlie and always writing little life moments on various pieces of paper so I figured that creating a random little mini from scraps would be perfect to keep all those life's moments. I can't wait to fill this mini with random memories! I love it! So, here's what I created with all my random pieces of scraps...

Thanks so much for stopping by! I think I may get addicted to making minis out of my scraps! I can't wait to fill this one up with fun summer memories!

Scarlet Lime Recycle Challenge

I have had this chip container for over a month with plans to alter it, but like many of my "collections" it just sits there...that is until I was sparked into action by Scarlet Lime's current challenge to recycle a container in your stash! Just the push I needed to transform this oh so useful container into a paint brush holder! And of course, I wanted to dig into my Scarlet Lime stash, so I used a kit from June 2009...yep I said it 2009! But the beautiful thing is that the exclusive papers and embellies from the SL kits are timeless!

Anyway, as you can see I also created a little SheArt girl for my container too. I learned so much in the SheArt class and so need to create more of these neat little girls! Hindsight is 20/20 and I wish I would have used book paper to cover the blue parts of the container and added some ink splatters and mist, but oh well it's finished and I'm happy with it! Next time, next time. Well, I'm off to make a mini album from my scraps, hmmm maybe a SheArt girl will show up there too....

Sketchy Thursdays and Scrapbook Circle

Ok, this rarely ever happens, but as soon as I received my July Scrapbook Circle kits- Blast Off! (and yes, i said kitsssss because I had to have two of them-one to use to bits and another to hoard for a while :) I ripped into it! One of the first things I created is this layout based upon this week's Sketchy Thursdays sketch and also for Scrapbook Circle's challenge #11 to use red, white, and blue on a layout. I started the LO before I had even picked out any pics to use, but just kind of randomly picked out some pics from my son's 9th birthday party at Alley Cats in January.

I love every single piece in this kit! I want to make a mini album, cards, LOs and everything with it! OA really hit it out of the ballpark with this supercute line and of course Scrapbook Circle just rocked it out with this Blast Off kit! If you get a chance check out the first thing I did with the kit over on my blog post at Scraps of Color E-zine! http://scrapsofcolorespire.blogspot.com/2011/07/get-firecrackin-on-4th-of-july-layouts.html And of course, if you have not already downloaded the free e-zine please head on over to the blog and check it out! I'm uber excited about being a part of this awesome e-zine!
