Sketchy Thursdays 5.26; Scrapbook Circle Challenge #8

This weekend we went to my little cousin's graduation party. Cutest, girly grad party I've ever seen! So had to scrap these little instax photos using this week's sketch from Sketchy Thursdays and also playing along with Scrapbook Circle's challenge to use this piece of Crate Paper ledger (my background paper) as inspiration.

Well, I'm excited because one more day and I'll be at the Great American Scrapbook Convention--whoohoo! I can't wait to take the two Jenni Bowlin classes that I signed up for and even more excited that Jenni is teaching the classes herself!!!! OMG- I better start charging my camera battery now! I'm so excited!

***Also uber-excited that I've been published for the first time as a Creative Team member of Scraps of Color on line magazine! The June/July issue was just released today! Please go over and check it out and leave some comment love for all of the ladies! http://scrapsofcolorespire.blogspot.com/

Have a great week!

Sketchy Thursdays 4.21 and Scrapbook Circle...

A couple of weeks ago my youngest son and I took a little trip to Waxahachi, Texas to visit the Crafty Scapper! It is truely the most amazing scrapbook store that I have ever been to and we went on the perfect day because they were having an amazing birthday celebration! We literally spent all day there shopping, doing make and takes, and meeting new friends! I was so proud of my son for being a good sport and later that evening he told me that he actually had a fun time and enjoyed our little trip! My heart still glows when I think of what a great time we had. But backing up a bit...I originally thought that he would get bored quickly so I pretty much let him pick out anything he wanted in the store so he could make some bookmarks which I later found that he had picked a LOT of stuff out!!! I purchased the majority of it after convincing him to put a few things back. I actually almost spent more money on him than me : O !!!!

So, anyway Thursday night after my oldest son's baseball game he asked to make his bookmarks. Even though it was way past 10pm I said yes, just so we could get 'er done! He caught me at the right time because I even let him have one of my Maya Road bottle caps that I had bought during our trip (((GASP)))!!! And, I had to take out one of my favorite new toys, my Instax Mini, to document this late night craft session! (Love that camera! It makes it so much easier for me to scrapbook on the fly since it takes me forever to print out digital photos).

So, this layout is based on this week's Sketchy Thursdays 4.21 post and also for Scrapbook Circle's challenge to use a banner on a layout! I used March's Scrapbook Circle kit with the addition of Crate Paper's Toy Box collection and a few things from my stash too! Well, let's hope this week is very crafty because I have tons of babyshower projects and cards that I need to make!

Have a beautiful week!

Pencil Line Sketch 232

This layout is based on this weeks Pencil Line Sketch. This is the first photo I took with my new Instax camera earlier this week! Ithink I love this thing and my kiddos are lovin' it too. Snapped some crazy, silly photos of them too! I primarily used Noel Mignon's February Truely Scrumptious kit for this and added my own handmade flowers, banner, Crate Paper, and twine, oh and some cardboard! That's it! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by!

sketchy thursdays 3.31

I love sketchy thursdays! I'm a little last minute with my lo this week, but so glad i played along! I have a ton of these mustache photos from Valentines Day since I didn't actually send out the cards like I was planning on, so we may see a lot a layouts with this photo. I'm usually not the type to keep scrapping the same photo over and over and don't get it when people do it because for me one of the main things about scrapbooking is recording memories...so why use the same photos a bajillion times? Anyway, I digress....I used March's Scrapbook Circle kit, a few items from Crate paper's Toy Box collection and made some flowers from jeans (addicted to these) and Maya Road zipper trim! I really need to get crackin' on using up my kit because I received my April kit yesterday and I LOVE it!!!

Have a great week!

Scrapbook Circle Challenge... Mixed Alpha Title

This is the 3rd challenge that Scrapbook Circle has posted on their blog and I vowed that I would participate because I was superexcited when it was announced that the blog was going to be more interactive, so it only makes since for me to actually play along! So, during my Monday nigt insomia I stayed up literally till the crack of dawn and worked on this LO. I so wish that I were a fast scrapper, but alas like everything I do-- I have over process it!

So....I finally cracked open my March Scrapbook Circle kit, Vintage Market , after drooling over it for a little over a week! I made this layout about my son and I spending the day together on Super Bowl Sunday. I also used some things from the Crate Paper Toy Box collection kit that I added on to my kit. I love me some Crate Paper, and I'm pretty proud of myself for diving into it and not hoarding it like I usually do! (I've also cut into it to make a mini album for a babyshower- yeah- go me). I made some of the cardstock elements from the collection kit more dimensional by adding chipboard under them....love doing this because I feel like I'm getting a bargain by making my own chipboard elements! And I used some twine from the Twinery.

Ok, well that's enough babbling...Thank your for taking the time to stop by! It really means a lot to me! Have a beautiful day!

Sketchy Thursdays 3.17

This LO is based on this weeks Sketchy Thursdays sketch! Iused my February Noel Migon kit- Truely Scrumptious and some bits and pieces from my stash. And, so sorry for the glare, but I just took this pic at like 3AM!!! I should have been asleep hours ago, but I was inspired tonight by watching a live Ustream of the reveal of a new kit club {Front Porch Kits} which is here locally at one of my favorite scrap studios {The Little Blue House}, so had to get a little scrappy during these wee hours while the scrappin' spirit was with me!!!
