Twelve Tags of 2012- May

Yep, I am Last Minute Lillie this month with my Tim Holtz Twelve Tags of 2012 tag! But hey, I got her done!!!! Woot! So, I was inspired to make a very clean tag this month and planned to try my hand at a monotone white on white with a touch of pink but I used a bit more color and really like how it turned out! And one of the techniques that Tim featured this month was the Melting Pot and how to make flowers look like resin. Well, I don't have a melting pot, but I have done the technique before using UTEE and a heat tool, but of course, my huge jar of UTEE is MIA! I really need to clean my scrap space, AGAIN!!! Anyway...I improvised with some glittery embossing powder and achieved an ok effect. Embrace imperfection, right? LOL!
Supplies: Tag, Embossing Powder: Ranger; Tim Holtz- Tissue Paper, Dress Form Die, Stamp; Patterned Paper: Sassafrass; Flower: Prima; From My Stash- ribbon, doily

Also entering this tag into Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog- Anything Goes (and use twine if you want too)- I used a tiny piece of Divine Twine to loop my ballerina charm through the tag.

Thanks for stopping by today! I'm trying to get excited about going to The Great American Scrapbook Convention Tomorrow, but I am really just so tired and want to sleep! Guess I better get some rest and put on my happy face because my scrap buddies are all super excited- don't want to be a Debbie Downer! Have a great night!

You can get $50 worth of merchandise for $30!!!!  And this is directly from Christina's blog " If you use code slcplum20 you can get another 20% off making it $24 for $50 worth of merchandise (note this code might not always work, but I did use my code in the pop-up window for signing up and got the 20% off)."

I just used the code and it works, so hurry on over there, and please use my link:

A quick little card...

I stumbled upon a challenge at Basic Grey's blog and fell in love with the inspiration piece card so I had to play along...even though it's taken me all week to finally sit down and make the time to whip up this little card. I love the original so much that I really used it as a sketch! I pulled out one of my old Scrapbook Circle kits that had these great BG papers from the Out of Print collection.

I am also entering this into:
Simon Says Stamp Vintage Challenge- Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Clean and Simple

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Winner Winner....

Happy Saturday, Awesome Ladies!  I'm a little late with my giveaway winner announcement but at any rate here it is.... This is my first attempt at a video, so hopefully it works, if not someone please leave me a comment and I will just update this post with the winner's name in the post instead of the video. Not trying to drag it out, but I just wanted you all to see the process since I could not use Random.org this time...Anyway... And I look a hot mess right now, so that's why I am clearly avoiding being in the frame-LOL! Thanks so much for everything!

And guess what? If you were not the lucky winner in the video...you are still a winner today! Yep, you heard me! Last Assignment for Spring Training 2012..

Yay! I made it! I totally did the assignments out of order, but this is my last one! Assignment #7- Effective Embellishing. We had to pull an old layout or a work in progress and use at least one of the embellishing design principles that we were taught. I decided to look in my December Daily from 2009 because I know that many of the pages lack embellishing.

So here is the BEFORE...
And then here is the AFTER....I used the principle of adding embellishments in odd numbers and coordinating. I added a few butterflies in coordinating colors to add to the visual interest of the page. I also realized that I had my visual triangle in place, too.
Yay! Feels good to actually complete a class especially since I have four other on line classes that I have not even touched yet! Yikes. I will get them completed, too!!! So much to do and scrap, so little time!

Spring Training 2012...almost finished

Another quick post in the wee hours of the morning. This card is for Ella Publishing's Spring Training Assignment #12- Die Cut & Paper Piecing.

I created this pieced together flower from a Tim Holtz die using grunge board and then misting it with Dylusions and then putting a cute little cabochon in the middle.

I am also entering this card into Simon Says Stamp and Show for this weeks show your favorite stamp. I used this Tim Holtz stamp (Words for Thought) which I just received today (well actually yesterday since it's officially Saturday now) from Simon Says Stamp! And, I LOVE it- it is officially my favorite for the moment! I have indulged in a  lot of new purchases lately, so I am on a mission to really use everything I order immediately instead of hoarding. And speaking of... that is why you will see a lot of the MME and Heidi Swapp papers in my projects lately- love the 6x6 pads! Ok, well I better go to bed for a few hours. Lots of baseball later today!

Ella Publishing Spring Training 2012 Assignment #5

Assignment #5- Window Light

Ummm, yes, I realize taking a picture of my doll is kinda creepy, but I'm totally home alone (YAY)!!! and so I had to use the most life like object I could find! She's cute! Ok, so just two more assignments and Spring Training 2012 is a wrap!!! I've enjoyed it immensely even though making a separate post for each assignment has been a pain in the rumpus!

Ella Publishing Spring Training Assignment #8

Assignment #8- Matching Patterned Paper

I gathered these papers from Dear Lizzy, LCI Woodgrain Paper (I LOVE), and MME to make my next layout...

Ella Publishing Spring Training Assignment #2

Assignment #2 is to organize the supplies from assignment #1.

After I sorted through it and purged I decided to organize my ribbon by type. I like color coded but for me it's easier to look at the type of ribbon I want first and then decide on the color.

Again, if you are even bothering to look at this, I apologize for the multiple postings....almost finished with all my Spring Training Assignments!

Ella Publishing Spring Training- Assignment 1

Yes, I realize I am all over the place with posting my Spring Training 2012 assignments, but that's just me...Random! (And I wish I could post them all on one post, but the link up won't let me use the same link for more than one assignment- boo!)

So, anyway assignment # 1 is purging and sorting supplies! I have plenty of areas that need this attention, but today I went straight to a bin that I usually throw my new ribbon in, but somehow it never finds a forever home. So here's my pile of ribbon that I need to go through...

Ella Publishing Spring Training- Assignment 3

Spring Training 2012 assignment 3 is to find the ideal type of storage container for the product I choose to organize(which was ribbon). I would love to have all my ribbon nicely displayed just like this...

My ideal ribbon storage is the Clip it Up 36" Ribbon Organizer from Simply Renee

Docerela Creations- Happy Mother's Day!

Quick Spring Training Assignment...

This is Assignment #6 For Ella Publishing's Spring Training 2012-- What to Do When the Lights Ain't Bright

I shot this photo in auto mode w. the flash off after 9pm in a hallway with very little light.

1st Attempt...Jeepers, that's ghostly! (ok, I just channeled my inner Velma from Scooby-Doo! she was the nerdy one, right? LOL!)

5th Attempt...much better, but I think I will keep practicing this skill!

Ok, that's it just needed to add this assignment. Be back in the AM with another card for a Spring Training and some NSD challenges! Nite!

More Spring Training 2012 and NSD...

Yep, it's highly unlike me to post several times a week, but I'll warn you that I will be posting quite a few things this week as I finish up Ella Publishings Spring Training 2012 assignments, complete NSD challenges, and then get ready for Friday's Docerela Creations DT hop! So busy, busy, busy week indeed, but I'm full steam ahead thanks to frappe happy hour at Starbucks!!! I think I need an intervention, because I know I will be sad when the promo ends at the end of the week! :( But anyway....

I'm sharing a card I made for Spring Training assignment #10- Misting with Masks. I made this little birthday card for my cousin who is celebrating his 3rd birthday next Saturday. I cut stars using card stock with my Slice and used them as a mask. I then used those same stars as embellies after inking them with black ink. Love it when I can stretch supplies!

Supplies: Card Base: Studio G; Kit: Studio Calico- Daydream Believer; Mist and Ink: Jenni Bowlin, Prima, SC Mister Huey, Sentiment Stamp: Docerela Creations; Letter Stamps: Making Memories, Studio G, Brad; The Paper Studio

This card is also for the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Challenge- Birthday Card
Cute Card Thursday: Cards For Guys
Studio Calico- NSD Letter Stamps Challenge

NSD GIVEAWAY PART UNO!!!!

Hey there, sorry I'm so late with sharing my NSD giveaway, but this has been a crazy, busy day and I haven't even gotten the opportunity to scrap yet!  And, I need to get ready to go to visit family! Yikes, but had to post this really fast!!! Well, lets get straight to the good stuff....

I am so happy to have you all follow my blog and I'm thrilled so I've been cleaning out my massive kit collection and would like to share some of kits with you! They are not brand spankin' new, but for the most part they have all the elements (a few stickers or elements may be missing). I think these three are from Scarlet Lime! They are older kits, but  timeless...can you see yourself making some spring and summer layouts with these fun kits? If so just leave me a comment and I will put your name in the hat!!!

AND notice that my post says NSD Giveaway Part UNO...well if you send some friends over to my blog to like me and I reach 100 followers I will have another giveaway on Friday which will include some Studio Calico, Jenni Bowlin, and other goodies!!! Oh and if you blog about my giveaway or Facebook it or something like that leave me another comment with a link so I can stop by and thank you and I will put your name in the hat an additional two times!!! Woot! Sound good? Ok, thank you so much for your support!

OH, due to shipping cost I am only able to ship within the United States. And, Winner will be drawn on Thursday!

Happy NSD!!!!

Happy NSD!!!

Hey Ya'll, Happy National Scrapbook Day! I have been surfing my little fingers off to figure out what online events I want to participate in for NSD since I won't be able to go to an IRL crop! I pretty much have my game plan outlined, but am anticipated several interruptions like baseball games, housework, needy kiddos, and whatnot! But anyway, somehow I will squeeze in at least a few hours of scrappy time! I am so excited and I did not forget that I promised to have a NSD giveaway. Well, I have not gathered all the goodies yet to photograph them, but in the meantime check out this giveaway that swewi is having! It's pretty awesome! Ok, be back in a few hours with my giveaway!
